Covered Wagon and Draft Horses.

The horses are poured solid pecan shells and resin and hand painted with sand paint on the bases*. The draft horses are about 8'' tall and 8'' long. The covered wagon is about 13'' tall and 14'' long, made of wood with the covered top.  The complete set is about 24'' long. There are only  2 set's like this one. Also, the set can be mounted  on a board with felt on the bottom or it can be set up like this one, choose when ordering.

If you have a sweet tooth this is the guy you call. This Mule candy dish is made of all wood, hand cut and hand painted. He could be used for almost anything, such as a planter, or just on the counter to catch your keys. He is 11 inch's tall and 7 inches wide.

Mule and Tobacco Sled  TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE

The Mule is 9 1/2 to 10 inches tall. Detailed hand painting for a realistic look. He is hitched to a hand-made tobacco sled with real tobacco in it for decoration. Finally both the Mule and Sled are mounted on a stained 18 inch board with a felt bottom.

About the Artist: Laurie Matthews
I was born and raised in Erwin, North Carolina and have had horses since I was 3 years old. I work at a full time job and needed stress relief when I came home thus I started in the craft business about 25 years ago. I found very few mule or donkey items and decided to pour them in the pecan shells and resin as they are not as breakable as other products. I put a lot of time into painting each piece to make them look as real as possible.

Coming Soon:  Christmas ornaments of all types, horse head ornaments, mule pin's, mule heads, covered wagons that can be hooked up to work horses that look real or you can just sit the horses in front of the wagon to make it look like it is hooked up.

*These items are made of pecan shells that have been ground up and it looks like flour.  It is mixed with a resin and poured in molds.  When it is curing it is like rubber. Then it comes out of the mold and as it cools it becomes hard so it can be cleaned and sanded and get it ready to be painted. Due to the detailed nature of the artwork involved in some of the pieces, a shipping date cannot be guaranteed.
