Leather Miniature Donkey or Miniature Horse Headstall with Reins

Amish made and handcrafted from top-quality skirting leather these headstalls are double-ply and double-stitched for strength and durability. The brow band and the cheek straps are 3/4" in width, while the throat latch strap is single-ply and 1/2" in width. There is an adjustment on both sides of the cheek strap so you get the correct fit for the bit. A Conway Buckle is used for attaching the bit to the cheek straps and a Chicago Screw is used to fasten the brow band around the cheek and throat latch straps. If wanted a Water Loop with a Leather Tie could be used in place of the Conway Buckle and a Rosette or Leather Lace Tie could be used instead of the Chicago Screw. All of the edges are finished and painted for a professional look and are tough coated for added protection. The hardware in these headstalls is chrome over brass for looks and durability. Solid brass hardware could be used in place of the chrome over brass hardware. These headstalls can be either tooled on the brow band and the cheek straps or they can be left plain. All of the leather, in these headstalls, is hand cut a piece at a time and the tooling is done completely by hand. Biothane is a durable strap good created by coating a nylon strap of many widths with urethane. It won't absorb sweat and is easy to clean by just hosing it off. It keeps its flexibility even in subzero temperatures.

Beta Biothane has a leather look and feel. Very easy to clean also and a bit more flexible than regular biothane. Since it has a softer coating it isn't as scratch and wear resistant as regular biothane.

These curb straps come in either a Beta or a Biothane material. All of these curb straps are Amish made to the highest standards of quality. These curbs come in two sizes, small and large. The small size adjusts from 6" to 8" while the large size adjusts from 8" to 10" in length. The Beta curbs are 5/8" wide while the Biothane curbs are 3/4" wide. These curbs come with an adjustment on each end so you can get the proper fit for your animal. The hardware is stainless steel on the black, white and colored materials and solid brass on the brown material. $11.75

Headstall Curb / Chin Strap

    These Amish handcrafted headstalls are durable and easy to care for. They are made of 3/4" nylon webbing and are 2-ply, double-stitched and box-tacked for strength. These headstalls have a 3/4" brow band and matching reins. Reins are 1-ply, double-stitched and box-tacked. Reins are 7' long and are split reins. All hardware is nickel plated and rust resistant. The curb/chin strap and bit are not included.

   Optional curb straps are made of 3/4" double-ply nylon webbing. They are cut and sewn with double-stitching and box-tacked ends by local Amish women. The buckle is made of nickel plated steel with round and smooth edges. You can purchase these curb straps in either a small size or a large size to fit your animals chin size. The small size adjusts from 6" to 7 1/2" and the large size adjusts from 7" to 9".
