D-20 Insecticide Products main ingredient is food grade Diatomaceous
Earth (DE). Insects are not built like higher forms of life. They do not
have blood vessels, only a body cavity that holds fluid. If they lose as
little as 10% of fluids, they die. DE helps them lose that vital 10% or
more. Most insects have a “waxy” coating on the outside of their shell.
The small DE particles puncture through the waxy coating, causing the
insect to dehydrate and die! This is all physical, NOT CHEMICAL!
The second ingredient is Pyrethrin, a natural vegetable extract from
a variety of Chrysanthemum flowers.
The third ingredient is Piperonyl Butoxide, another natural vegetable
extract first discovered in Sassafras and pepper plants. It is used as a
synergist to magnify the effects of Pyrethrin. A small amount of this is
added to DE to add a quick killing, long lasting insecticide that is a
very effective alternative to conventional chemicals.
D-20 – Packaged as Household Insecticide, Pet
& Animal Product,
Commercial Insecticide, and Fire Ant Product (Has 0.02 percent Pyrethrum).
D-20 – As a quicker knockdown and quicker kill for all types of insects.
Can be applied wet or dry.

D-21 – Packaged as Garden and Plant
Product and Farm and
Field Product. (Has 0.01 % Pyrethrum).D-21 – For gardens, plants and
hydroponics to kill insects. Apply wet or dry.
HOUSEHOLD - The Household formula is effective against roaches,
silverfish, ants, flies, bedbugs, fleas, box elder bugs, etc. in the home. Comes
in five ounce puffer bottle, one, five and 30 pound bags. Application - It is
best applied with the puffer bottle. Locate the area of infestation and lightly
dust the cross paths of the insects. The powder sticks to insects as they come
in contact with the product. Small microscopic spikes penetrate their
exoskeleton thereby distributing the microscopic particles through their
digestive organs. This causes death in a short time through dehydration. The
average time for an insect to be immobilized is five to ten minutes.
Application instructions
GARDEN & PLANT - The Garden and Plant formula is useful to protect plants
against a vast number of insects as listed on the label whether around the home
or in the fields. It can be used on food crops even on the day of harvest. Comes
in five ounce puffer bottle, two and 20 pound bags. Application - Indoors, apply
the product with the puffer bottle, dusting the paths or areas of infestation.
This is commonly under the leaf system. Outdoors, depending on the size of your
garden, apply using the puffer bottle, lightly dusting the vegetation and leaf
system. Water will wash away the product but the residue will remain active. Best
applied while plants are dry. Can be applied the same day as harvest and it will
not harm human or animal life. Application instructions
PET & ANIMAL - The Pet & Animal formula is effective against fleas, tics,
and lice on animals.(D-20 household formula may be substituted) Instructions on the label should be followed to make
certain of effectiveness. Should also be applied to animal sleeping areas. Comes
in five ounce puffer bottle, one, two and 30 pound bags. Application - Using the
puffer bottle, apply a dusting to your pets coat. Brush or rub into the dander
of the coat and apply liberally as the thickness of the fur requires. Look for
results and brush or bathe your pet as necessary to remove any dead fleas or
tics. Be sure to treat pets sleeping areas as insects will live there waiting
for the pet to return. Reapply after bathing on dry fur as a preventative. Use
as often as necessary. A light residue does remain until area is washed or
vacuumed.
If you suspect that your warm blooded pet already has fleas or other external
pests, you can shake a little D-20
Pet and Animal directly on the pet and use your hands to rub it into
their coat.
Don't forget to apply in and around their bedding area also.
If your pet is important to you, don't use dangerous, toxic flea
collars or chemical wormers, use a natural, safe and effective alternative.
What you want to do with DE is apply a very light coating. If you are applying
it in a way that you are kicking up visible dust, you are putting WAY too much
down. See also: Livestock and Pets
FIRE ANT - The Fire Ant formula kills Fire Ants and a great many other
insects. Use wet or dry according to the instructions on the label. Comes in
five ounce puffer bottle, two and 30 pound bags. Application - It is best
applied with the puffer bottle. Locate the area of infestation and lightly dust
the cross paths of the ants. Locate nest if possible and dust liberally around
the opening. See also: Fire Ants and

Perma-Guard
Insecticide
Application Instructions:
Perma-Guard Household Insecticide can be applied using any equipment to handle
dust or powder, whether it be hand or power operated.
Roaches and Silverfish
*In most cases, general application is not needed, but one needs to give
localized attention to cracks and crevices, under stoves and refrigerators, and
in likely hiding places. Be sure to treat around sinks and drain pipes.
*If there is an opening into the sewer line, blow a considerable amount of
product into the line. Being closed, air pressure forces the dust further down
the line, coating the upper half of the pipe, leaving no safe place for roaches.
This protection exists as far as the line is coated.
Ants
*Dry Powder: Stir the mound with a rake or other tool, agitating the ants.
Apply Perma-Guard Household Insecticide dust liberally on the immediate area,
contacting as many ants as possible. Repeat if needed for final results.
* Wet Application: Use one-half scup of Perma-Guard Household Insecticide with
one tablespoon of a mild detergent per gallon of water. Saturate the mound or
bed with the entire gallon of mixture. Repeat if necessary.

Carpet Beetles
Thoroughly dust along baseboards, carpet edges, under furniture, carpet, and
rugs, and in closets and shelving.
Crickets, Scorpions, and Box Elder Bugs
Lightly dust areas around windows, doors and other places where pests may enter.
Fire Ants
(also see Fire Ants-
"Killing the Ants, Get the
Queen")
Fleas
* Animal Application: Apply Perma-Guard Household Insecticide liberally to all
parts of animal, close to skin.
* Rugs: Make a thin coating on the rug. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth,
causing dust to enter the rug. Leave overnight. When cleaning, do not make a
special effort to remove the dust in the rug. It will kill live fleas, repel
others, and will deodorize the carpet.
Flies
Lightly coat window sills so flies lighting will contact the dust. If the
outside walls of the house, shrubbery, outbuildings (such as barns, stables,
kennels or corrals) are dusted, flies are greatly reduced. Repeat if needed.
Thoroughly dust areas where flies frequent (walls, straw bedding, livestock
pens). It also can be applied to livestock coat as an insect repellent/contact
insecticide.
Outside Area
Apply 8 to 16 oz. of dust per 1000 sq. ft. of the yard. Two or three
applications per year should do the job. This can be done as dry dust or as
wettable powder, using suitable equipment
Indoor and Outdoor Application: Sprinkle a light layer of DE
in areas where pests frequent, including under stoves, cabinets, sinks, garbage
cans, window and door frames and sills, entrance ways, sewer pipes and drains,
and in cracks and crevices. Repeat treatment as needed.
For Carpet Beetles: Thoroughly dust along baseboards, carpet edges, under
furniture, carpet, and rugs, and in closets and shelving.
For Bedbugs : Take apart bed and dust joints and channels. Dust any hollow
tubing and the interior framework as well as the mattress and all cracks in the
room.
For Fleas: Thoroughly dust carpets and pet's bedding and sleeping areas, as well
as cracks and baseboards. It also can be rubbed into your pet's fur.
For Flies: Thoroughly dust areas where flies frequent (walls, straw bedding,
livestock pens). It also can be applied to livestock coat as an insect
repellent/contact insecticide.
Perma-Guard Household product is licensed to be used in for pest control and
around the home, yard, animal housing, etc. It can be applied as a dry dust, or
mixed with water at the rate of 2 oz. per quart and sprayed as a liquid.
Plant and Garden Pesticide
For control of aphids, whitefly, beetles, loopers, mites, leaf hoppers, adult
flea beetles, sawfly, coddling moth, twig borer, thrips, mites, cockroach,
slugs, snails, earwigs, silverfish, and ants. Can be used for bedbugs, cabbage
root flies, carrot root flies, fleas, pillbugs, ticks and is helpful in dealing
with fungus gnats. For use in the greenhouse or outdoors on fruits, vegetables, flowers,
grains and grass--up to and including day of harvest.
Dry Application
The goal is to get coverage over the entire plant, especially under the leaves.
For young plants, as little as two pounds per acre may be adequate. For larger
plants, five lb/acre is probably sufficient. With extra growth, it might be
necessary to increase the amount. An examination of the leaves will tell if the
leaf bottom is covered.
Applicator:
A good dust applicator is essential, and should be equipped with electronic
nozzles, which put a negative charge on the dust. The plant being positive,
attracts the dust making for a better coverage even ion leaf bottom.
Wet Application
The same rates per acre apply when using as a water and powder mixture. Adding water is
merely a means of using existing spray equipment and can be used by making a
thin slurry of DE and water. This method can you give precise coverage and when
it dries the DE goes to work. A slurry can also be used as a "paint" on tree
trunks to discourage insects and to give sunscald protection to the bark. A
slurry paint may also be useful in deterring borers from laying eggs on bark.
Mixing Instructions:
For Fruit Trees:
We use 8 oz per Gallon or 2 1/2 lbs per Acre and find it to be very
effective.
Minimum: 1 lb. to 2 gals. water
Maximum: 1 lb. to 25 gals. water
The purpose is to get a solution that will flow easily through the nozzle and
still put the recommended amount of product per acre. Again, it is essential to
get coverage on the underside of the leaf.
Garden and Yard Plants
The same specifications apply. Get coverage on top and bottom of leaf. Apply
either wet or dry.
Applicators
A variety of units are available, from small hand held units, to backpacks. Some
are capable of applying either wet or dry product
Application

Pastures: Use 10 to 15 lbs. per acre (a little less on a very calm
day).

powder. Dust plant upward from the ground, covering all stems, top and
underside of leaves.
Rows: Use 4 lbs. per acre injected over seed.
